Negin sharifzadeh Boushehri
Negin Sharifzadeh Boushehri was born in 13 August 1979 in Tehran/Iran.
She received her high school diploma in Math in 1997. She got acquainted
with sculpture and pottery when she was 15. At that time she began
learning the techniques of sculpture with Mr. Fayaz, who was one of
Iran’s respected sculptors. She started her academic studies in
Sculpture in January 1998 at the faculty of Fine Arts, Tehran
University. She received her B.A in Sculpture in February 2003. In this
period she experienced working in different materials, such as bas-
reliefs, Urban Sculpting, Design and making coins and medallions
inspired by ancient motifs, figures in different scales, portraits and
works inspired by different literary concepts. She is captivated by the
interaction between literature and Sculpture. A point of interest that
culminates in her works as seen in her last two solo exhibitions named,”
Romeo is a bird and Juliet is a stone”, a piece from Federico Garcia
Lorca. (May 2003).
“Inspired from Haiku” her last solo exhibition in Fall 2007, displaying
minimal sculptures in Aluminum. She completed her independent research
at, ”L’Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales “(EHESS) in
Paris/France on “Women, Art and Society” in December 2004. And is
currently a performance student at the School of the Art Institute of
